How executives and founders should think about leveraging AI
Identify and catalog your unique data assets.
Imagine a superhuman who could instantly process all of the data and brainstorm things that person would be able to do better than anyone else. This thought exercise can help you identify cost reduction opportunities and offensive strategies using AI.
Quickly collaborate with strong AI-partners (such as Scale AI, Open AI, or Anthropic) to implement these strategies, as Alexandr predicts companies who fail to embrace AI quickly will soon see lagging consumer experiences and financial performance.
The biggest opportunity for enterprise AI models is leveraging vast amounts of proprietary data
Today, most advanced AI models are trained on publicly available data, but 99.9% of the world’s data is private. This data includes everything from messages to memos, and organizations have massive amounts of it. Enterprises will be able to blend base models with their unique data, creating highly differentiated and specialized tools that specifically cater to their business and customers.
Two commonly overlooked predictions on the future of AI
Alexandr predicts, “at some point, people are going to spend more than half their time talking to models versus humans.” Human interaction with AI models is rapidly becoming a more dominant aspect of daily life, especially as the models get better and better. There’s little reason to believe we would start spending less time with AI models in the future. “No matter what, these models are going to start eating into all the time you spend interacting with other people.”
Alexandr notes that “models are going to quickly become some of the largest investments in most countries.” We’ve started a transition from AI projects requiring $100M+ in investments to potentially $100B+. Yet, few countries can afford a $100B investment in AI, and this landscape will push AI to be one of the world's most significant endeavors, akin to massive historical scientific projects such as particle accelerators.
